What are nutraceutical suppliers showcasing at FiE?

The Food Ingredients Europe (FiE) trade show kicks off in Frankfurt tomorrow, welcoming key players in the nutrition industry.

The event which runs from Nov. 19-21 in the Messe Frankfurt exhibition grounds, will include over 1,500 exhibiting companies and expects to have upwards of 25,000 attendees over the three days. 

FiE, organized by Informa Markets, focuses on ingredients for food formulating, however select brands will showcase nutrition innovation, integrating probiotics, postbiotics, and botanicals into diverse food and beverage formats, as well as catering to consumer demand for gut health, immunity and cognitive support. Emerging market segments, such as sports nutrition, children’s health and even pet wellness, are also in the spotlight with novel product concepts.

AB-Biotics

AB-Biotics will showcase its probiotics, focusing on strains designed for integration into various food products such as dairy, sports drinks, snacks and juices. The probiotics are formulated to remain stable during processing and consumption. 

Other products on show: probiotics and postbiotics for athletes, addressing areas like muscle strength, endurance, digestion, immune function, fatigue and metabolism, as well as LipiGO, a patented postbiotic fiber aimed at safe, long-term weight management in pets by promoting fat elimination without affecting nutrient absorption. 

New product samples will be available in booth, including child-friendly popping candy with B. coagulans IS-2 for ​digestive and immune health and granola featuring i3.1​ for digestive support.

Cargill​ 

Cargill will present EverSweet, a stevia-based sweetener showcased in zero-calorie peach iced tea and no-sugar-added yogurt. It will also be showing plant-based feature products like Thai-style patties made with Abunda mycoprotein and pea protein-based drinkable mango yogurt alternatives. Cargill is partnering with Voyage Foods to develop sustainable cocoa alternatives, prototyped in two pralines.

FrieslandCampina Ingredients

FrieslandCampina Ingredients will focus on new product concepts for various nutrition sectors, including sports, early life and medical nutrition. These include a new Biotis Fermentis bar for gut health and muscle support, which combines proteins, prebiotics and probiotics to target the gut-muscle connection and meet demand for fermented products. It will also showcase new ready-to-drink formulations aim to improve protein taste and texture, targeting the growing European protein beverage market. The company will also present its Step Up Nutrition platform as a solution for children’s growth, cognition, immunity and gut health.

HealthTech BioActives 

HealthTech BioActives (HTBA) will showcase its taste modulation solutions. The company specializes in citrus flavonoids and active forms of vitamin B12 and will present food and drink prototypes that highlight its expertise in addressing industry challenges like masking bitterness, enhancing sweetness and improving mouthfeel.

Prototypes include a pea protein vanilla beverage, an organic dark chocolate bar and a tonic water, each demonstrating different applications of HTBA's solutions. Additionally, HTBA will unveil its Cardiose strawberry dragon fruit gummy in support of cardiovascular health.

Prinova

Prinova will preview CitraPeak, a soluble form of hesperidin. Additionally, it will present several new product concepts, focusing on emerging consumer trends in food and nutrition. Its concepts align with Prinova identified 'mega-trends' like gut health, cognitive well-being, alcohol-free alternatives and functional sports nutrition.

  • Good Guts: A lemon ginger tea with prebiotics, L-Glutamine, vitamins and minerals for gut and immune health.
  • Good Mind: A cherry-grapefruit drink with natural caffeine and nutrients for focus and alertness.
  • Good Game: A kiwi lime beverage featuring electrolytes, amino acids and vitamins for hydration and recovery.
  • Workout Cookies: Containing botanicals like pomegranate and ginseng for recovery and endurance.
  • Gaming Gummies: Designed to enhance focus and reaction time with nootropics like L-tyrosine and caffeine.

Roquette

Roquette will showcase its plant-based nutrition solutions, such as the high-protein Nutralys Fava S900M, a fava bean protein with 90% protein content, and several food prototypes designed to address modern nutritional and sustainability trends.

The company will present: a plant-based dessert made with fava protein for a dairy-free option, a Nutri-Score A-rated savory cake snacks using soluble fiber and pea protein, high-fiber tortillas and plant-based taco components featuring pea protein and modified starch for texture, and algal-based DHA gummies.

Rousselot

Collagen and gelatin brand Rousselot will be highlighting sustainable and functional ingredient solutions, presenting prototypes like sugar-reduced marshmallows, zinc- and vitamin C-infused gummies, and high-collagen, sugar-free Nutriscore ‘A’ gummies. Its offerings include Peptan for overall wellness and Nextida GC, a novel collagen peptide targeting post-meal glucose spikes. Additional exhibits feature collagen-enriched mocktail powders and stable, low-sugar protein bars.
