NPD Launchpad August 2024: Fresh flavors, women’s health and adaptogens

New flavors and special editions are key this month, as August sees brands cater to a wide range of wellness needs—from hormonal support and cognitive enhancement to digestive health and high-protein convenience.

Arbor

Start-up Arbor Vitamins has launched two new supplement powders designed to support women through perimenopause and menopause.

The Perimenopause Supplement includes 22 botanical ingredients, such as soy isoflavones, maca root and red clover extract, and is formulated to address symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings and bone health. 

Meanwhile, the Menopause Supplement contains 28 ingredients, including damiana leaf extract and pumpkin seed extract, designed to target issues related to hormone decline, such as sleep disturbances, brain fog and heart health.

Spacegoods

Powdered mushroom blend start-up Spacegoods has launched a limited edition Strawberry Rainbow Dust, a vegan milkshake designed to improve focus and energy while maintaining calmness. 

The product includes six adaptogens, including lion's mane to support brain health, cordyceps to boost energy chaga to enhance immunity, ashwagandha to relieve stress, maca root for energy and libido and Rhodiola rosea to reduce stress and fatigue. 

Infusd 

Infusd launched its Super Greens effervescent tablet in two new flavors: pineapple and watermelon. 

The plant-based, organic blends are designed to cover daily wellness needs, such as mood balance, improved gut health, detoxification, increased immunity and energy, and strengthened hair, skin and nails.

It contains spirulina and wheatgrass for reduced fatigue, kale, moringa and spinach for immune health support, chlorella and alfalfa to aid digestion, aloe vera and broccoli to improve gut health and ashwagandha to ease stress. 

Motion Nutrition

Motion Nutrition introduced Release, an apple cider vinegar powdered supplement blend designed to support digestive health, weight management and appetite reduction.

The blend is formulated with six additional ingredients, including seven live probiotic strains to promote a balanced gut and digestive enzymes to help with nutrient absorption. It also contains chamomile to aid digestion and alleviate gastrointestinal discomfort, plus green tea extract and black pepper to support metabolism and weight control. 

Nutrigums 

Gummy brand Nutrigums announced the launch of its Lion's Mane Gummy, containing 2,500 mg of lion's mane mushroom extract per serving in vegan gummy format. 

The berry-flavored gummies are enhanced with black pepper extract, pantothenic acid and vitamin C and marketed to support immunity, cognitive function and mood by aiding normal psychological function and the nervous system and reducing tiredness and fatigue.

Zita West 

The reformulated Vitafem by UK-based brand Zita West is a multivitamin and multimineral supplement specifically designed to support women's fertility, aiming to address nutritional imbalances and prepare the body for conception.

The formula includes a comprehensive mix of nutrients like natural folate (methylfolate), vitamins B12 and B6, zinc and selenium. It has also been reformulated to include boron, which has been shown to aid hormone regulation and reproductive function, and vitamin K2, which supports bone health and calcium metabolism. In addition, the packaging has been updated to an eco-firendly recyclable glass pot with a metal lid.
