Cambridge Nutraceuticals, the parent company of healthy aging focused supplement brands FutureYou Cambridge and Prime Fifty, has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of beauty-from-within brand GP Nutrition.

Founded by celebrity nutritionist and author Gabriela Peacock, UK-based GP Nutrition will continue to be marketed as a stand-alone brand with Peacock formulating supplements in the range.

While the brand already enjoys its own high profile thanks to Peacock's A-list clientele, including celebrities and members of the Royal family, Cambridge

Nutraceuticals will be able to build the brand further through its operational and marketing expertise.

“We’re delighted to welcome Gabriela and her GP Nutrition brand to the Cambridge Nutraceuticals family," said Matt Keys, CEO of the parent company. “The high-quality supplements she has developed, and the strong brand foundations align perfectly with our vision for the future.”

He added that the purchase was the perfect opportunity to enter the growing beauty-from-within space, which aligns with the longevity and women's health products already within his portfolio: “We originally identified nutricosmetics—ingestible beauty supplements such as collagen—as a key growth driver, so when the opportunity to acquire GP Nutrition presented itself the stars aligned.

“Bringing GP Nutrition 'under our wing' means we will accelerate our ability to tap into these trends, all the while growing our target audience and potential customer base.”

Some of the supplements within the GP Nutrition portfolio include capsules such as astaxanthin, ashwagandha, resveratrol and omega-3, as well as a Longevity Complex containing lion's mane, cordyceps, reishi, Hydrocurc, quercetin and green tea.

It also sells powdered SKU’s such as: Cleanse with broccoli spinach kale, barley, wheatgrass, beetroot, kiwi and spirulina; and Beauty with pea protein, magnesium, inulin, plus several botanicals and vitamins.

Healthy aging trends

Discussing wider trends in the healthy aging nutraceuticals market, Keys said consumers seem particularly interested in turmeric supplements to support musculoskeletal and joint health such as Cambridge Nutraceuticals’ highly bioavailable and Informed Sport certified Turmeric+ tablets with added vitamins C and D3. The formulation uses a patented Meriva phytosome delivery system in which curcuminoids are combined with soy lecithin to increase the body's absorption and provide the full bouquet of curcuminoids, including the ‘most powerful’ demethoxycurcumin (DMC).

He added that gut health and sleep are also trending areas. The FutureYou ProBio 8+ probiotic sachets offer daily gut health maintenance with a combination of eight strains of friendly bacteria alongside prebiotics.

The brand also has planned to launch a Biome Nourish+ prebiotic product later this year, providing a “high purity” galactooligosaccharides (GOS) formulation as well as a new postbiotic supplement named  Biome Shield+.

Also catering to this trend, the Prime Fifty brand sells Gut & Immunity containing 14 strains of live bacteria as well as key vitamins and minerals aimed at supporting immune health.

The brand’s Magnesium+ Advanced with added B vitamins appeals to consumers on the search for sleep support. It uses a bisglycinate formulation that improves absorption and retention and is certified ‘menopause friendly’ with the official M-Tick.

Finally, FutureYou’s Serene+ SKU contains Affron, a patented Spanish saffron extract, to increase the body's natural production of melatonin.
