Indian ingredients manufacturer Sudeep Nutrition has launched a range of 13 liposomal ingredients named Lipoboost to offer formulators enhanced bioavailability and efficacy.

The experts in spray drying and encapsulation technology, backed by parent company Sudeep Pharma, aim to address the significant challenge faced with traditional nutritional ingredients regarding absorption and bioavailability.

The firm asserts that vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C and magnesium, can have absorption rates as low as 20% to 30% when taken in conventional forms.

"This poor absorption can lead to inadequate nutrient levels in the body, diminishing the effectiveness of dietary supplements and failing to deliver the expected health benefits," said Sumit Mehetre, marketing manager at Sudeep Nutrition.

Liposomal encapsulation is rapidly emerging as the future of nutrition due to its ability to enhance the delivery and absorption of active ingredients.

It works by encapsulating nutrients within liposomes—tiny, lipid-based vesicles—so the active ingredient is protected as it passes through the digestive system, allowing for more efficient delivery to target cells.

Sudeep's new range includes: vitamin C 70%, vitamin D3 50,000 IU, B12, multi vitamin-mineral premix, iron, magnesium oxide, zinc, calcium, glutathione, melatonin, DHA 10%, curcumin and coenzyme Q10.

Several more liposomal ingredients are currently under development, including hyaluronic acid, quercetin, biotin, inositol and collagen. And research is ongoing to identify additional ingredients that will have enhanced effects when processed with the Lipoboost Liposomal Encapsulation technology.

The range of ingredient also benefit from their compatibility with various other actives and within various formats, including tablets, capsules, powders and gummies, the company noted.

"We are excited to introduce the Lipoboost range to the market," said Shanil Bhayani, director at Sudeep Nutrition. "Our advanced liposomal ingredients represent a significant step forward in nutritional science. With liposomal encapsulation, we address the longstanding issue of poor nutrient absorption, offering significantly higher bioavailability compared to traditional formulations.

"This innovation not only enhances the effectiveness of dietary supplements but also supports better health outcomes for consumers. We believe Lipoboost will set a new benchmark for efficacy and quality in the dietary supplement industry, and we are committed to helping our partners deliver superior products."
