Evan Molnar, director of products at Designs For Health, told NutraIngredients: "We recently upgraded our PerioBiotic Silver toothpaste to feature hydroxyapetite, a bio-compatible ingredient that helps to remineralize tooth enamel.

“Combined with probiotics, purified silver and CoQ10, it is now the most robust fluoride and sulphate-free toothpaste on the market, and we've had wonderful feedback from our customers and the broader marketplace. Designs for Health is proud to continue being an innovation leader in the natural and functional health space,” he added.

Powerful protein

Zooki has launched a new ‘Super strength collagen’ product, containing 11,000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen as a convenient liquid sachet in sour cherry flavour - the highest strength liquid marine collagen in the UK.

The quantities enable for support with cartilage and muscle maintenance, skin elasticity, and bone health, following the significant reductions in collagen levels that occur with age.

Head of nutrition, Sarah Carolides, explained: “When we started to look at more targeted collagen research that focussed on older participants, it shows that they can benefit substantially from a larger daily dose. One 2023 trial specifically on over 50’s showed significant reductions in pain and improvement in completing exercise and daily activities when they took 10g of collagen for 6 and 9 months. But what was interesting is that they also had a group taking 20g a day. This group also showed improvement but wasn’t much different to the 10g group.”

“The conclusion is that around 10 grams a day seems to be an optimal dose for improving and maintaining physical health and that there may not be a benefit to taking much more than that,” she added.

MyProtein has collaborated with the confectionary brand Chupa Chups to create a limited edition ‘Clear Whey Isolate’ in the its classic strawberry flavour.

The powder contains 21g of protein per serving from hydrolysed whey protein isolate for optimal muscle growth and recovery, as well as less than 0.5 of fat and sugar and fewer than 90 calories.

NutritionX has innovated a new protein whey shot for convenient, on-the-go nutrition, containing 20g of whey protein and a complete 4.9g of BCAAs.

The 100ml drink is designed to support muscle repair and recovery, whilst only containing 81 calories in a low sugar and fat formula.

Brain-boosting

Neutonic has released a new sugar-free "productivity drink", containing 120mg of natural caffeine, L-theanine, rhodiola rosea, and panax ginseng. The drink is available in wild citrus and orange sunrise flavours.
