NaturaYuva will showcase its portfolio of sustainable speciality, organic, botanical ingredients at Vitafoods Europe for the first time this year.

Joining the Start Up Pavilion at the event, the supplier, which is headquartered in Switzerland, will showcase ingredients which are all grown by the company’s network of 500+ smallholder farmers in agroforests across India using agricultural tradition and knowledge.

Founded in 2016, the supplier works to transform plant species into a variety of speciality aromatic and medicinal ingredients for the food, beverage, supplement, pharmaceutical and personal care industries.

The company has grown its portfolio to more than 200 plant species under a stringent quality-by-design approach, including curcuma, ashwagandha, moringa, bacopa monnieri, boswellia, senna, amla, ginger ingredients and more.

At the heart of NaturaYuva’s operations is its commitment to empower smallholder farmer communities through improved livelihoods and regenerative agroforestry.

This involves crop rotation, planting allied plant species and using natural pollination which in turn enables the conservation of biodiversity, avoids erosion and soil exhaustion, and removes the need for synthetic crop protection chemicals. To date, the company has planted more than 25,000 trees.

Arko Chatterjee, founder and CEO of NaturaYuva, says: “I’m incredibly proud that the NaturaYuva team is exhibiting at Vitafoods Europe this year. We have been selling commercial volumes of speciality botanicals to the European market for over a year now and a bumper 2023 harvest means we can significantly increase our ingredient offering to this dynamic market.

“When I founded NaturaYuva, my ambition was to help restore the balance between people and nature. I wanted to address some of the biggest challenges faced by food, beverage, supplement, pharmaceutical and personal care industries by providing access to high-quality, organic certified, traceable ingredients from sustainable sources. This is why sustainability sits at the heart of everything we do, we’re motivated by the positive impact we have on the livelihoods of the individuals working on these farms and the habitats we restore through regenerative agroforestry.”

He explains that the company’s ingredients are analysed during development and manufacturing to ensure stringent quality parameters of consistency and purity are met and that all ingredients are free from pesticides, solvents and heavy metals.

"Strict quality guidelines are maintained and monitored in real time from seed to delivery. The company pairs its quality-by-design ethos with batch-level traceability from seed through to farm, processing and final delivery of ingredients.
