Sports & Active Nutrition Summit 2022: More big-name speakers confirmed!
The setting is Amsterdam, and the venue is the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel as NutraIngredients once again strives to deliver the very best insights from the sports and active nutrition arena.
What better way to kick off proceedings with the news that former professional rugby union player George Kruis will be offering the benefit of his experience on how to keep athletes training and consumers exercising.
George Kruis and Fourfive
An ex-lock for professional rugby team Saracens, England and the British & Irish Lions, Kruis will also consider the role of recovery and injury and how it prevents athletes from achieving peak performance.
Now the co-founder of sports supplement firm FourFive, Kruis will also outline the benefits of CBD and vitamin supplements that have been linked to pain relief and loss of sleep associated with injury.
With last year’s feedback firmly in mind 2022’s SANSE looks to include much more first-hand experiences and real-world applications and Zarina Kanji, Head of Health and Wellness at the Alibaba Group, certainly fits that bill.
Alibaba Group
Scheduled in for day two of the event, Kanji has been leading Tmall Global Business Development for health and wellness brands at Alibaba UK & Nordics since 2018.
Her session, which attempts to explain the ‘digital enigma’ of China, is an fitting one as Kanji is responsible for helping brands enter the Chinese market.
Kanji’s extensive network means she can connect them to over 1.31bn global annual active consumers across the Alibaba ecosystem, which includes over 1bn annual active consumers in China.
SANSE 2022 continues to offer more on day three with more first-hand experiences from established brands in the sports nutrition industry.
Glanbia Performance Nutrition
Here, we warmly welcome Karl Bickley, Head of Innovation and commercialisation at Glanbia Performance Nutrition.
Scheduled in for day one with his take on navigating the EU Landscape, Bickley is the man to oversee this presentation as an experienced innovator and category leader within the Sports and Active lifestyle nutrition sector.
Having worked across multiple brands and international markets since 2008, Bickley’s current role sees him leading consumer driven innovation for the Glanbia performance nutrition house of brands across the European, Nordic and UK markets.
Houlihan Lokey
SANSE 2022, which is once again chaired by Nick Morgan, Director of Sports Integrated (UK), also warmly welcomes back Garyth Stone, Managing Director of consumer food and retail firm Houlihan Lokey, who will provide an investor’s view of sports nutrition for 2023.
Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Lokey was Managing Director at McQueen, a London-based independent advisory firm acquired by Houlihan Lokey in 2015.
He joined McQueen following ten years with the European Food, Beverage and Agribusiness M&A team at Rabobank International, where he was co-head of the UK/Irish M&A team.
Prior to Rabobank, he was in the consumer products M&A team at Citigroup and Schroders.
