The ‘great resignation’ appears to continue unabated with the nutrition industry being no exception. Here, NutraIngredients rounds up the moves made for March and April.

Health and nutrition multinational Royal DSM announce the appointment of Edson Barros as Senior Director R&D, Innovation and Marketing.

Based in Switzerland, Barros, a Brazilian/Italian national, will take up the role in the Personal Care & Aroma Management Team, having joined DSM back in 2019.

“DSM has demonstrated its scientific expertise and services within the Personal Care & Aroma businesses over the past years,” comments Barros.

“I am delighted to support our continuous growth in the coming years through innovative solutions to the market, having our customers as a one of our key stakeholder and partner in order to fulfil their needs faster and in an efficient way.”

Barros succeeds Rishabh Pande, who joins DSM’s Food & Beverages Business Group and will report to Gareth Barker, President of DSM Personal Care & Aroma Ingredients.

Arjuna new CEO

Meanwhile, Arjuna Natural has appointed Anup Krishnan as CEO to oversee the firm’s planned manufacturing capacity expansion.

“We welcome Anup Krishnan to Arjuna as the new CEO and head of the company,” comments P. J. Kunjachan, Chair & MD of Arjuna.

“His vast experience in R&D, leading innovation and technological change and process optimisation, will help take the company to new horizons, accelerate growth through innovation in designing new products, and enhance the essence and core values of Arjuna and its talented team of experts.”

“I’m excited to contribute to Arjuna’s journey of exploring and creating branded botanical ingredients that will make a positive impact on consumers’ well-being,” adds Krishnan.

“We’re already building a roadmap that positions all the company’s ingredients for increased success. Arjuna’s strength lies in its professional team of experts and ongoing commitment to grow and produce sustainable botanical extracts,” he says.

“I’m very impressed by the clean, science-based product portfolio of Arjuna and look forward to expanding that portfolio to better serve consumers worldwide.”

Luthar as ADM CFO

Finally, ADM has appointed Vikram Luthar as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Ray Young, who has been CFO since 2010 and served as the firm’s Vice Chairman since February.

Effective immediately, Luthar, who was President of ADM’s Health & Wellness and Bioactives businesses, joined ADM in 2004 as Vice President and treasurer.

“Vikram has a deep understanding of ADM’s business having served in leadership roles throughout our finance organisation and in key growth areas such as nutrition and health and wellness,” comments Chairman and CEO Juan Luciano.

“He has a strong drive for results balanced with strategic orientation and has consistently raised the bar for his team and the organisation as a whole. He is an ideal executive to lead ADM into our next phase of growth.”

Young will support Luthar during the transition, later providing strategic counsel as Vice Chairman on future ADM initiatives.
