One of the Awards’ most popular category, the judges were impressed by the versatility and efficient delivery of caffeine, the active ingredient of Revvies Energy Strips and the product that went on to scoop the Award.
Accredited through the Informed-Sport quality assurance program, the energy strips provide a convenient way to get a quick caffeine fix, whilst on the go or needed before or during exercise.
NutraIngredients spoke to the Cofounder of Revvies Energy, John Nolan-Neylan.
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us John. Firstly, what made you decide to compete for the Product of the Year: Sports Nutrition?
“Revvies has received great feedback from consumers, elite athletes, and sports dietitians, so we felt we had a great product and wanted a way to show this to all our stakeholders, customers, buyers, investors rather than just passing on these comments and reviews.
“NutraIngredients is extremely well-known, and leader in the nutrition sector, so we felt an award from them would carry a lot of weight and credibility.”
What difference did the Award make for your company and its business activity in 2021?
“The award has certainly delivered for us in terms of the credibility of our energy strips with these key groups.
“For example, we featured the award in our crowdfunding campaign with Seedrs.com, Europe's biggest crowdfunding platform, and I am sure this contributed to the success of the campaign.
“Additionally, we include it in our pitch decks to buyers, and it's great to be able to say "award-winning energy strips" in our social media posts and ads.
“This short phrase carry's the message of quality, effectiveness, safe all in a few words and from an independent third party.”
Do you think the win has opened up more opportunities to Revvies Energy and the business’ growth and development?
“Without a doubt. We operate in a highly competitive market segment, with high levels of consumer and buyer cynicism, so being able to show in a manner that is accepted that your product is ahead of the pack is very difficult, but extremely important.”
Would you say the award win served as a stepping stone or trigger towards exploring new areas of research or business development?
“Not so much research for us, but certainly business development. It has helped as start more conversation, which has led to new business, I am sure will led to even more in the next 6 months, both domestic and international.”
Finally, do you have any advice for future Product of the Year: Sports Nutrition applicants?
“Do it! We will certainly look to enter new products into the awards program in the future.”
