After nearly two years, the biggest players in the health and nutrition industry are gearing up to showcase their newest products and insights at Vitafoods Europe 2021, Geneva, next month.

Exhibiting in the hybrid event in person (5-7 Oct) and online (4-8 Oct), the show gives the global industry a chance to catch up with the nutraceutical market leaders.

In the Lonza Capsules & Health Ingredients booth will be the new-to-Europe TWK10 sports probiotic - the first probiotic that increases exercise endurance up to 75%. And unlike beta-alanine, TWK10 delivers benefits in a small 100 mg dose that is vegan friendly- sourced from Taiwanese kimchi.

To support customer preference for 'clean' supplements, Lonza will also exhibit its portfolio of TiO2-free capsules, consisting of a pre-set palette of colours and masking options for hard gelatin capsules, and a wide colour range of vegetarian capsules (HPMC) for nutraceutical applications. This offering includes the Capsugel Vcaps Plus HPMC capsules featuring White Opal white semi-opaque colouring. This white, semi-opaque, plant-based capsule gives products a natural look, while helping to meet regional regulatory requirements.

Attending the event in person, Christian Heck and Bram Baert, from Lonza, will provide a presentation providing insights into the changing consumer trends which are driving the evolution of capsules from a simple gelatin shell to a multi-faceted dosage form.

And available on the event's virtual stage (on-demand now), is a webinar from Lindsey Toth and Zain Saiyed, from the firm, providing an overview of the market opportunity in joint health supplementation, the different joint ingredients currently available, and how to break through the competitive landscape with UC-II undenatured type II collagen.

"The judges highly commended the initiative’s ability to meet a clearly defined, and so far unmet, consumer need, as well as its strong scientific grounding."

New formulations include the >Your< Cardiovascular Capsules, formulated for doctors treating patients at risk of developing cardiovascular complications. The capsules are clinically supported to promote cardiovascular health via lipid level balance, correct platelet aggregation process, healthy endothelial function and blood sugar balance.
