With two weeks to go until business leaders from the sports nutrition sector gather for the Sports & Active Nutrition Europe Digital Summit 2021, the questions remains: Will you be joining us?

The Summit is the latest event bought to you by NutraIngredients that capitalises on the interest in sports nutrition to optimise not only performance but general health – a prime focus during the pandemic.

The three-day online summit, which runs between 12-14 October, is a nod to 2020’s success, where the virtual environment allowed for a much more global audience and diverse range of speaker.

This year’s offering continues in the same vein as NutraIngredients continues to explore the frontier of sports nutrition science, consumer trends and innovation insights and their relevance in the commercial arena.

Registrations open now!

Last year’s event gave NutraIngredients the opportunity to include topics that resonate most with our attendees.

This year, the summit continues this theme with topics to be discussed include Sports Nutrition 2.0, A state of the Nation, The future of innovation, Opportunities in export, Protecting the gut and Defining Recovery.

A complete schedule is now available but to give you a taster, the line-up includes Robert Walker, Head of Business Development and Growth at Aminolabs Group, Jason Rickaby, Co-Founder of HMN24, and Joshua Schall, Owner and President of JS Consulting.

Looking for more experiences from the professional sports arena? We’ve heard you as this year, the summit warmly welcomes Emma Gardner, Lead Performance Nutritionist for English Institute of Sport, England Men's Cricket and Great Britain Women's Hockey and Mike Naylor, Head of Performance Nutrition at the English Institute of Sport and Consultant Performance Nutrition for The Football Association.

Rugby and football

We’ll also get to hear about sporting performance demands at the elite level with contributions from Gloucester Rugby’s James Hudson.

Now retired, Hudson started his career at Bath Rugby, moving on to London Irish at the end of the 2005–06 season, where he moved onto Newcastle Falcons and then finally the Aviva Premiership team Gloucester Rugby.

Hudson will take us through recovery from an elite sport point of view and what aspects could be applied to the everyday consumer.

Now a Performance Nutritionist working with the likes of Vitality Group, Nutrition X and Arla Foods, Hudson will take the keynote presentation of the day to touch upon physical preparation, recovery and the nutritional discipline required to be up there with the best.

Alongside rugby, the demands of professional football will be covered as Hal Robson-Kanu, ex-premier league footballer for West Bromwich Albion and the Wales national team joins the panel discussing life beyond protein and towards ingredients such as curcumin, botanicals and CBD.

Industry and academia welcome!

In addition to the live shows, those registered will also be able to download on-demand content. The opportunities for networking will be plenty, with a one-to-one booking system which will allow you to schedule meetings with other attendees before, during and after the three-day event.

This year’s event caters to both industry and academia with an industry ticket costing €299 and an academic ticket costs €149.

The stage is set for big industry names to fill the (virtual) room, and top-level speakers on the stage. But don’t take our word for it! Take a sneaky peak at the agenda for the summit and then register!
