First up, prebiotic ingredient and gut microbiome specialists Clasado Biosciences has appointed Cathy Erwin as its new Head of E-Commerce.

Erwin, who has previously worked at Sanofi and Symprove, is tasked with developing the online sales channels for the firm’s prebiotic galactooligosaccharide (GOS) ingredient Bimuno.

“I’m delighted to join the Clasado team and help further propel the business forward during this exciting time of growth,” says Erwin.

There is huge global appetite for prebiotics – consumers are looking to learn more about the gut microbiome and the important role of ‘good’ gut bacteria in supporting overall health and wellbeing, which puts Clasado in a very strong position as the developer of the most studied prebiotic ingredient of its kind.

“I look forward to joining the talented Clasado team on this journey!”

Clasado recruitment drive

The appointment is the latest in a recruitment drive by the firm based in Reading, UK. Since April, the company’s new appointments include Dr Frederic Narbel, VP of Sales B2B and Ian James, Finance Manager.

In September 2020, Gareth Clark was appointed EU Sales & Marketing Director of the prebiotic ingredients firm.

“Cathy has a great deal of experience in driving digital brand & on-line strategy in the health and nutrition category,” comments Per Rehné, CEO at Clasado

“Around the globe, prebiotic fibre is connecting with consumers looking to support better gut health. We are notably seeing increased attention on prebiotic supplements, as well as exciting and fast-paced innovation in areas such as functional foods, beverages and sports supplements.”
