Pure flavours for clean labels
Synergy Flavours has launched an ‘Inspiring Fruits’ collection, as an addition to the Synergy Pure range of natural extracts and essences, including flavours such as pear, sour cherry, peach, strawberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant.
As the essences are made using only high-quality raw materials, they are appropriate for clean-label products including beverages, dairy products, and desserts..
With requests for provenance and transparency increasing, Synergy has also worked closely with suppliers to offer British provenance with the raspberry, strawberry and blackcurrant essences.
Synergy’s proprietary process uses steam distillation to capture the aroma, or ‘essence’, of the raw material and preserve the authentic taste of natural fruits at their peak.
Eric Zabiolle, General Manager of Southern Europe, Synergy Flavours, commented: “Manufacturers are innovating and catering to demand from consumers for more natural ingredients across food and beverage products. At Synergy, we use a blend of art, science and insight to capture and preserve the best of what nature has to offer, so that we can provide our customers with tailored solutions whilst keeping product labels as ‘clean’ and natural as possible.”
Lycored supplies complex for Herbalife supplement
Lycored has supplied its proprietary nutrient complex Lycoderm to Herbalife Nutrition’s newly launched skin health product, LycoGlow. The product claims to help support skin smoothness, brightness, and firmness for an all-over healthy glow, with a once-daily softgel.
Lycoderm is a proprietary blend of tomato phytonutrients and rosemary leaf that offers optimal concentrations of lycopene, phytoene, phytofluene, and carnosic acid. Lycored says the synergistic combination of these nutrients has been shown to help balance the skin's response to sun exposure and environmental stress.
“Herbalife SKIN LycoGlow taps into growing consumer demand for ingestible skincare products containing plant-based ingredients rooted in research and sprouted from science," said Ibi Montesino, Senior Vice President, and Managing Director, North America at Herbalife Nutrition.
Lysulin gains sixth patent approval
Lysulin, Inc. has gained its sixth patent approval for its flagship product Lysulin, an all-natural nutritional supplement formulated for people with Type 2 diabetes and prediabetes.
The recently approved patent is the sixth to be secured by the company for its method of improving beta cell function with a supplement.
Insulin is needed for glucose to enter our cells to produce the energy needed for everyday activities and it is made in the beta cells of the pancreas. In type 2 diabetes, the body becomes insulin resistance and attempts to compensate by producing more insulin. Research has shown that chronically high levels of blood glucose over a long period of time can lead to beta cells wearing out, referred to as beta cell turnover or beta burnout.
Dr. John F. Burd, CEO of Lysulin, Inc., says: “We are pleased to have another patent covering the use of Lysulin to improve diabetes management. Lysulin is the only product that targets the cause of insulin resistance and clinical studies have proven that Lysulin can improve both insulin resistance and beta cell function."
