Gray discussed his nutrition regime, which he said is a little bit of everything:
“For me, obviously it’s really important to eat a lot of carbs, I’m a big fan, I really love red meat, just because I’m trying to keep my ferritin up, and I try to avoid taking iron because it is a little rough on the stomach, but I get a lot of my nutrition from red meat when it comes to iron, I just try to cover all grounds. I eat a little bit of everything, veggies, fruits, I don’t really stick to a super strict diet, but I eat everything.”
The pro trail runner also reflected on his experiences in a predominantly white sport and spoke about the need for more diversity in the sport as well as in product advertising.
“I started Project Inspire Diversity. When I was younger, I took a step into the dark, going from basketball, a predominantly black sport where you feel comfortable and everyone looks like you, to doing distance running where nobody looked like me. What I’m doing is trying to inspire that next generation of minority and black kids to give this sport a try and let them know they are not alone.”
