The supplements, sold under the Forté Pharma name, build on the Vitalité 4G Shot line to now include Vitalité 4G Senior, a ginkgo biloba supplement aimed at the elderly.
The product is also enriched with astragalus, an anti-aging antioxidant that increases physical and mental endurance.
The product range, a mainstay in the French market for over a decade, also introduce Vitalité 4G Shot, a concentrated spray that contains ginseng, guarana, ginger and royal jelly to combat fatigue.
Its energy boosting concentrate Gelée Royale Dynamisant, is a blend of royal jelly, mate, acerola and pollen is designed to strengthen the immune system.
“Reig Jofre focused much of its efforts on enhancing the geographical diversification of Forte Pharma and expanding its product portfolio,” the Company said in a statement.
“The evolution of the energy and health segments in recent years has counteracted the effects seen in the nutritional supplements industry in France for weight control.”
French turned off by weight loss supplements
Reig Jofre expand its offerings in a country that posted annual sales of €170m. In 2015, the global market energy supplements was worth nearly €5.8bn ($6.8bn) with predictions forecasting the market to hit €9.6bn ($11.2bn) by 2020.
It is in stark contrast to the French consumer appetite for weight control supplements, according to Euromonitor, who noted “a shift in consumer approaches to health” this year.
“Although France is faced with a significant obesity problem, weight management and wellbeing experienced continued decline in 2017, as it lost out to product areas with an emphasis on longer-term prevention, including the dynamic vitamins and dietary supplements and sportive nutrition categories.”
French supplement preferences could be considered a representation of what is occurring in the rest of Europe.
With more and more people participating in sport, there is now an increasing emphasis on consumption of vitamins, dietary supplements and sports nutrition products all designed to boost energy levels and achieve optimum physical performance.
“Forté Pharma’s strategy is to balance its four consumer segment offerings to compensate for seasonal fluctuations in the weight control segment in comparison with our health, energy and beauty segments,” said a spokesperson for Reig Jofre.

The firm also make additions to its product line focused on the health segment. Forté Rub, combines six natural extracts to combat common cold symptoms throughout the day clearing the respiratory tract, eliminating nasal congestion and reducing incidences of coughing.
