Experts wanted: EFSA calls for new NDA Panel members
The European Food Safety Authority has opened applications for its next Scientific Panel on Nutrition, Novel Food and Food Allergens (NDA) – which is tasked with setting dietary reference values and authorising and rejecting health claims dossiers.
EFSA said it is looking for experts in nutrition, toxicology, genotoxicity, allergology, biochemistry, pharmacology or nutritional epidemiology to form part of its NDA Panel.
The panel works to assess the safety of novel and traditional foods, evaluate nutrient sources and assess the scientific substantiation of health claims, and impacts hundreds of millions of consumers in the EU.
EFSA said registration is now open via its website – and that applications should be submitted by 8 September 2017.
