The cap was being showcased by botanicals giant Naturex for some its yerba mate-based sports nutrition blends and chromium-based weight management blends, and for its versatility to house any blends.
“You plug the smart cap onto the bottle and then you get your personalised and DIY beverage,” said application lab manager Camille Dorleac.
“That’s why we call it a smart cap – so it can be personalised with any formulation.”
The caps come in different colours that can be used for different purposes and are made to deliver a specific dose of a nutrient blend at the point of consumption.
“There are lot of new beverage delivery systems and what we wanted to highlight was our ability to support our customer’s with that kind of innovation,” she said.
“We wanted to follow the main trends. Here it is flavoured with lime. It has no sugar – it is naturally sweetened with stevia. A little bit of natural colouring. It is a pre-workout drink designed for a specific benefit but we can change the formula with different benefits so at another moment of the day you could have a relaxing drink in the evening by example. Or something giving you a kick in the morning for example.”
