Welsh rugby enlists one of its own for nutrition

Welsh firm Pro Athlete Supplementation (PAS) has won a contract to be the ‘Official Supplier of Performance Nutrition’ to the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU).

The 10-year-old company – owned by nutritionist Jon Williams and Olympic Gold Medalist hurdler, Darren Campbell (MBE) – was already the WRU’s Official Isotonic Supplier.

“In addition to the Pro Iso range we will now be providing all the representative teams from the National Squad, through the age-grades, to the Women’s sides and the Sevens, with a comprehensive range of sports nutrition and advice,” Williams said.

All its products are batch-tested by the QC control scheme Informed-Sport.

“Jon has worked with the National Squad as Nutritionist for the last seven years and his advice and products, all of which are formulated by him and batch tested, is a major advantage to our teams,” said WRU consultant head of physical performance, Paul Stridgeon.

PAS works with three of the four Welsh Regions and English Premier League soccer champions Leicester City.

As part of the deal, all Welsh rugby players will be eligible to buy PAS products at a discount.

PAS works with more than 90 football and rugby teams in the UK and Europe.
