The database - Nutraveris Online - summarises the most up-to-date information to address the complex and ever-evolving nature of regulatory compliance that shapes the nutrition sector in 28 European Union member states.
In an effort to keep clients constantly in the loop, the database provides monthly reports and alerts when new studies or regulations are published about a pre-selected health application or ingredient.
The database benefits from real-time updates by Nutraveris that provides weekly research and analysis of over 1,500 publications and opinions.
It also provides commentary on ingredients and health claim applications that could be used in Europe, monitoring over 2,100 ingredients (e.g. vitamins, minerals, botanicals, other substances) and 132 health applications (e.g. weight management, joint health, immunity) for changes to status and availability.
Evolving regulation
With this function users have access to data like clinical studies and EFSA positive opinions on a particular ingredient and health area.
“Meeting country-specific regulations are one of our main challenges as it is a constantly changing environment,” said Cedric Bourges, CEO of Nutraveris.
“Nutraveris Online is a web portal that provides information on an ingredient’s status, details on its dosage and claims, along with the science and proof of safety studies."
With Nutraveris Online, Bourges explained that the database’s use also extended throughout the product’s life cycle, providing additional support post-product launch.
“Whilst it has been designed to enable the best product possible within that category, the database also covers regulatory, scientific and marketing aspects that are necessary to launch the product,” he explained.
“The regulation always evolves so you need to be aware about what’s going on even when you have your product on the market.”
