Real Good Food buys ISO2 Nutrition from Cre-8tive Health administrators

UK bakery and ingredients firm Real Good Food has acquired sports supplements brand ISO2 Nutrition from the administrators of Cre-8tive Health Ltd for a “nominal” sum.

The Swindon-based Cre-8tive Health was founded in 2008 and incorporated in 2013. Its body building, weight loss and sport nutrition brand ISO2 Nutrition was distributed by Monster Supplements.

ISO2 Nutrition will now be integrated into Real Good Food's Garrett Ingredients business, which was already a customer.

Pieter Totté, Real Good Food's executive chairman, said the acquisition was part of its strategy to add “bolt-on businesses” within its existing business units of cake decoration, premium bakery and in this case food ingredients.

"Garrett's has a long established relationship with the business and this enables us to enter a new and interesting channel, adding product and portfolio diversification, which is a deliberate move, as we decrease Garrett's dependency on the dairy and sugar commodities markets," he said in an announcement.

Ups and downs of Real Good Food results

Last month Real Good Food announced profit after tax of £9.3m (€12.87m) for the six months running up to the end of September 2015.

This was largely due to the sale of its sugar Napier Brown business, for which it received £44.4m (€61.59m).

Real Good Food's business units are: bakery ingredients firm Renshaw; cake decoration manufacturer Rainbow Dust Colours; Garrett Ingredients; source and coating producer R&W Scott; dessert manufacturer Haydens Bakery and Real Good Food Europe.

Garrett Ingredients saw a 30% drop in revenues on the previous year and a 15% drop in operating profit.

Meanwhile Rainbow Dust Colours and Real Good Food Europe saw some growth.
