Now in its third year, Food Vision is a senior-level industry event taking place in Cannes, France from March 18-20, organised by the publisher of FoodNavigator and NutraIngredients, William Reed Business Media.
This year, it will include a specialist nutrition stream running alongside its traditional food industry programme of presentations, debates and discussions. This extension of the agenda recognises increasing convergence of interests within the food and nutritional industries.
“Governments and consumers are demanding food that delivers nutritional value and health benefits as well as basic sustenance,” said Shane Starling, senior editor of FoodNavigator and NutraIngredients. “This is creating an appetite for collaboration, which we applaud and encourage.”
More than 130 food industry decision makers from 20 countries attended Food Vision in 2014, and the broader portfolio of speakers is expected to attract an even wider delegate audience this year, including leaders from specialist functional foods and dietary supplements businesses, as well as leaders in R&D, marketing and business strategy from the food manufacturing mainstream.
The extended programme has been informed by the expert editorial teams of FoodNavigator and NutraIngredients.
Food Vision’s three-day agenda will feature plenary sessions relevant to all groups, and parallel streams drilling down into more specific aspects of food, drink and nutrition.
Among the line-up of speakers and contributors are:
- Jonathan Moore, the Executive Chef that’s keeping high-end supermarket Waitrose at the forefront of food innovation
- Elizabeth Johnson, a world expert in ageing and nutrition who is working with governments and industry to improve health and cognitive function in older age groups
- Hervé This, ‘the world’s weirdest chef’ and the co- founder of molecular gastronomy
- Radek Sali, CEO of Swisse Wellness, the world’s fastest growing OTC company with ever expanding international ambitions
- Lance Leonard, President and CEO of True Drinks Inc – the company that’s transforming the children’s soft drink category
- Dr Guy Miller, the man at the forefront of personalised medicine – attending physician at Stanford University Medical Centre and Executive Chairman of two businesses innovating at the meeting point of nutrition and medicine.
Food for health
“Our programme this year focuses on responsible innovation,” said Stephen Daniells, editorial consultant to Vision Events, and senior editor of FoodNavigator-USA and NutraIngredients-USA. “As consumers become ‘hungry for health’ and governments rebel against the cost of food-related illness, we’ll be looking at the frontier where ‘food that feeds’ becomes ‘food that heals’. We will facilitate a meeting of minds between specialists in nutrition and leaders within the mainstream food and drinks market that will encourage collaboration, innovation and new ways of working.”
Food Vision 2015 will be held from March 18-20 in the five-star Grand Hyatt Hôtel Martinez, Cannes, France, within an exclusive event suite that combines business, networking and residential facilities.
Industry partners
The event is supported by high profile industry partners. Joining for the first time will be BASF, GNT Group and Novozymes. Returning partners include DSM, Cosucra and Barry Callebaut.
Gareth Barker, vice president of DSM Human Nutrition EMEA said: “We return to Food Vision year after year because it provides a spur to innovation – an opportunity to both inspire and be inspired. Amongst its high-calibre delegates we’re able to make connections that help us to develop our network, enrich our business and further our mission to create brighter lives for generations to come.”
Vision Events director, Christina Wood, said: “We bring together heads of R&D, marketers and business strategists, the very people who, working together, have the power to drive real and profitable change in their businesses and industry.”
