CNP, Team Sky team up to offer Tour de France nutrition 'to everyone'
The Team Sky range, which will be available in the UK from June 2014, consists of two high-protein smoothies and two high-protein porridge products.
Available in Coconut & Pineapple and Orange & Mango variations, the 330ml smoothies are, according to CNP, low in fat and contain less than 180 calories.
While the Team Sky porridge offerings, which are presented in packs of five 35g sachets, are available in Superfruits and Fug & Honey flavours.
Cheshire, England-based CNP, acquired by British dairy First Milk in 2012, has been an official supplier of Team Sky since its inception in 2010, and claims to have “helped power the team” in the 2012 and 2013 Tour de France, when Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome respectively rode to victory.
By teaming up with CNP, Team Sky hopes to make this "same nutritional expertise available to everyone."
"We are extremely excited about this partnership with our nutrition and hydration partners CNP to make that same nutritional expertise available to everyone," said Joel Keoghan, head of brand Team Sky.
"These products will also enable us take the Team Sky brand to new audiences as we go through an exciting period of growth in the fan base of the team,” he added.
Also commenting, David Young, marketing director at CNP, said: “With the nutritional credibility of CNP and the Team Sky track record on consistently improving performance, we have a proposition that is totally different to anything else on the market."
“This range delivers against almost every current nutrition and health trend and credibly moves CNP from sports nutrition into lifestyle nutrition," he added.
