Frutarom backing botanical science in 2014

Swiss ingredients giant Frutarom will publish at least four trials this year from its suite its suite of botanical extracts and blends as it revamps the classification and presentation of its wares.

Frutarom Health will launch 5-7 proprietayingredients in 2014 it said, with a push of its nutra offerings to the pharma sector that meant upping certifications to pharma grade in some cases.

Frutarom will publish clinical data on:

  • A patented wild green oat extract for cognitive health (Neuravena)
  • a natural root extract for immune health (Pelargonium)
  • a flax lignan ingredient for male health (LinumLife)
  • a bladder herbal extract blend (Go-Less)

The company has repsoitioned these and its other nutrients into four categories: Innovation; natural ingredients; research and responsible sustainability.

“We made significant investments in the last year to improve our plants in Switzerland and North Bergen [New Jersey] to provide high-quality, sustainable natural ingredients,” said Holger Riemensperger, general manager of Frutarom Health in a statement.

“We also sponsored several clinical research trials on specific nutraceuticals, plus our R&D team developed several innovative ingredients intended for world-wide launch this year.”
