GSK reshapes Lucozade and Ribena as standalone business

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is restructuring its GB and Ireland consumer healthcare business with Ribena and Lucozade consolidated as a separate business under new management ahead of a sale.

Global management of Ribena and Lucozade will now fall to Peter Harding who has previous experience with GSK beverage brands.

“Lucozade and Ribena are two of the most recognized brands in Great Britain and Ireland, with significant upside potential on a global basis,” Harding said.

In 2013 Harding said GSK’s advertising and promotional spend behind the brands would continue, as would its investment in their NPD.

Gareth Smyth is new UK sales director, Carol Smith is marketing director (UK & Ireland) and Rory Brennan country manager for Ireland.

Jon Roberts, international marketing director, will carry on in his role reporting to Harding.
