Solbar ready to power up for growth post acquisition

Solbar is preparing for strong global growth in the wake of its acquisition by farmer agri-cooperative CHS, according to Todd Watson, CHS global protein sales and development manager for food and food ingredients.

With CHS's acquisition of Solbar finalised in February, the company was now gearing up for growth in all a variety of geographical food-based markets, Watson told FoodNavigator in this exclusive podcast.

CHS had committed itself to growth in soy protein with the acquisition and had firm plans to invest in the area in the future, he said. Despite soy having already become established in the EU, there was considerable room for further growth there, he said.

He asserted CHS planned to create a wealth of value-added soy-based products using Solbar's know-how and he outlined what he believed were important potential markets for development.
