Polaris invests in new lipid production facility

France-based lipids provider has confirmed it is investing in a new production facility in Brittany that will serve its expanding portfolio dedicated to the cosmetics and food supplements.

The new facility is dedicated to the production of lipids using the latest short-path distillation technology, which is based on soft purification that can produce waxes, flavours and fractions of molecules to obtain a variety of ingredients, especially those derived from marine oils such as Omega-3.

The company says it can now offer customised production for purified fractions of unsaponifiable vegetable oils or waxes targeting health applications for a range of food supplements as well as cosmetic products such as nutricosmetics.

“This new investment represents a very significant step that should allow us to expand our presence to a global scale,” said Stéphane Lozachemeur, Polaris managing director.
