It is Advanced BioNutrition’s first move into food ingredients with its technologies in the undisclosed deal.
“Our business is built on our product innovation and applications, production processes, long-term customer relationships and intellectual property,” said Lasse Nagell, vice president in sales and marketing in the Human Health & Nutrition Division at Chr Hansen.
“We believe ABN’s technologies will help us stabilize and deliver probiotics and other nutrients in a number of applications.”
ABN Business Development business development director, Larry Loehr, said the deal could open the door to other collaborations.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to work with Chr Hansen,” he said.
“We look forward to a successful completion of this technology agreement with Chr Hansen and additional work with this great company.”
Frequent and regular
The companies said collaboration would be frequent and regular.
“ABN takes a proactive approach to resolving product formulation and manufacturing process challenges for customers. Customising distinctive technologies in the pursuit of solving specific problems is done in collaboration with customers such as Chr Hansen.”
“ABN research scientists work alongside Chr Hansen research and development teams, adapting ABN’s portfolio of innovative technologies to customise a protection, stabilisation, and/or delivery solution that will help the customer capture more value, with products and processes that can lead to enhanced or improved human health.”
