Rocket Fuel re-enters UK market

Food Brands Group has re-launched its Rocket Fuel coffee product, which comes packaged in self-heating cups, onto the UK market.

Priced at £.2.49, the new cups are available in 200ml recyclable cups in both white coffee and hot chocolate variants, and contain "natural stimulant" Guarana, which the company said "has energised Amazonian tribes for centuries".

Food Brands Group said its "unique self-heating cup works by generating a small thermal reaction between the inner and outer packaging. Activation is triggered by clicking the base of the cup and shaking the can a few times. The cup heats in just 3 minutes and stays hot for up to 20 minutes."

Sales director David Brooks said: "We’ve refined the packaging based on consumer feedback and added a hot chocolate variant to the portfolio. We are delighted with the results.

"Rocket Fuel Self-Heating cups tap into the growing trend for coffee on-the-go and are perfect for any consumer who requires an instant energy boost anytime, anywhere.”

The company has also upped its brand marketing spend, and will launch an advertising campaign across the London Underground and at Liverpool Street Station in London, while branded lorries will also be visible on UK roads.
