Norwich's innovation centre set for July opening

A new research hub is set to launch in East Anglia in England, as works nears completion on the £5 million innovation and incubation building at the Norwich Research Park (NRP).

The NRP Innovation Centre will offer over 30 office and laboratory units and has been fitted out in a totally refurbished and customised 4,215 sq m three-storey building.

“The NRP Innovation Centre and NorBio are both coming under the umbrella of CIL, enabling us to offer facilities for start up and expanding science businesses,” said John Irving, who leads the NRP Innovation Centre project for Colney Innovations Ltd (CIL). It will provide us with the strong foundations for positioning the Norwich Research Park as one of Europe’s first choice science parks for science entrepreneurs.

“There are already nearly 3000 scientists working on the NRP within a radius of just one kilometre, which demonstrates the concentration of expertise, underlined by the NRP’s world leading position in health, food and environmental science.”

Science research institutes based on the NRP include the John Innes Centre, Institute of Food Research, the Sainsbury Laboratory, the Genome Analysis Centre and the University of East Anglia.
