Solbar gains top honors for soybean analysis

Solbar has been awarded first place for analysis of its soybean meal by the American Oil Chemists Society (AOCS) Laboratory Proficiency Program, the company said on Monday.

The two awards were for its oilseed meal 100 percent nitrogen and oilseed meal 100 percent moisture, and Solbar said the results are due to be published in the September issue of AOCS’s Membership magazine Inform.

Chief technologist at Solbar Trevor Meredith said: “The results not only express the accuracy of the analytical methods that were used in this program, but are an indication of the high overall proficiency and standard of results reported by the laboratory.”

The AOCS Laboratory Proficiency Program is a proficiency program for oil and fat-related commodities, oilseeds, oilseed meals, and edible fats, with more than 40 participant nations and 500 chemists from various companies in the oils and fats industry.
