MHRA reappoints botanicals and medicine chairs

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has reappointed its Herbal Medicines Advisory Committee (HMAC) and Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) chairs.

Professor Philip Routledge, OBE, continues in his HMAC post, one that has seen a lot of activity since the passing of the Traditional Herbal Products and Medicinal products Directive (THMPD) in 2005.

The current head of the department of pharmacology, radiology and oncology at the Wales College of Medicine at Cardiff University, takes the post, which gives independent advice to the MHRA, for another four years.

Sir Gordon Duff fills the CHM post.
