DSM and Lonza extend 'intense partnership'

DSM Nutritional Products and Lonza will continue a decades-old working relationship, as the companies seek to “intensify partnerships” as the economic climate bites.

The ongoing sharing of facilities in Switzerland will see the companies continue to share infrastructure costs under the arrangement that sees Lonza supplying services and raw materials for DSM’s vitamins, carotenoids, and aroma chemicals business.

The new undisclosed contract did hint at some change with a review being undertaken of, “the organisational setup for the 147 Lonza employees working at the Lalden site of DSM Nutritional Products.” "We are very pleased to continue our partnership with DSM. The common utilization of the infrastructure is benefiting both partners. The extended partnership is also a promising commitment to the production sites of Visp and Lalden, showing that they are able to deliver high quality products at competitive costs,” said Lonza CEO, Stefan Borgas.
