As Health Ingredients Europe opens its doors in Paris today, we preview some of the new launches we have heard about in advance.

Arla Foods Ingredients is showcasing milk proteins aimed at cognitive performance and development. The phospholipids derived from milk using advanced separation technology.

Cargill and Jungbunzlauer will be talking about erythritol, just as the European Commission grants official recognition of the sweetener’s low calorie status. This rubber-stamp is expected to give it new leverage for healthier products.

Chr Hansen will be demonstrating its child-friendly probiotics stick at the show.

The European Salt Company is introducing a new product called Balance Salt, which consists of 50 per cent sodium chloride; the other half being combinations of the essential minerals potash, magnesium and calcium.

Hochdorf is introducing new application possibilities for its lupin seed-derived ingredient Lipidor, introducing it as a fat replacer for meat and bakery products as well as a milk and lactose alternative in confectionery.

Polaris will present Phospholife QS, an ingredient created in response to omega-3 demand; it is described as a mix of triglycerides from marine oils rich in EPA and DHA, of eggs phospholipids and astaxanthin.
