Natural Nutrition buys complete control of supplement arm

A ten per cent stake in Interactive Nutrition has been sold to parent company Natural Nutrition to the tune of nearly a million dollars.

The sale of the minority share by Turnaround Partners - a company specializing in improving financial performance - gives Natural Nutrition complete control of its supplement subsidiary. Interactive Nutrition is said to be Natural Nutrition's primary operating arm, with products including the antioxidant containing supplement Shield, a CLA supplement, as well as offering a range of proteins. A spokesperson from Interactive Nutrition was unavailable for comment prior to publication. Turnaround Partners chief executive Russell Kidder said: "We received a total consideration of $890,000 for our ownership in Interactive Nutrition, as we intend to focus our efforts on the turnaround, business growth, development and sales of alternative and clean technologies in the future. "A substantial part of the consideration given by Natural Nutrition was paid in convertible securities owned by them in an alternative energy company, which was a great fit with our new business focus." As part of the deal Natural Nutrition also divested "non-core assets" which were sought after by Turnaround Partners. Further details of these assets have not been disclosed, although Kidder labeled the deal a "Win Win for both companies." Interactive Nutrition also specializes in sports supplements, and sells sports nutrition products in over fifteen countries throughout the world. Last November the firm announced it will manufacture a new vegetarian vitamin D line of products. The vitamin supplement will be in the form of soft gel caps containing 1,000 International Units of the vitamin.
