Fortitech builds new capabilities in US, Asia, Mexico

Fortitech has announced significant new capital investments in several of its key markets, as it reaches out to growing markets with its custom nutrient premix services.

The company, which has its headquarters in Schnectady, New York, began its investment program with a new manufacturing and testing facility in Denmark in 2005. When this is taken into account together with newly announced developments, Fortitech's investment amounts to $22m. In Asia Pacific, Fortitech is sealing its commitment to the region with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing and lab facility in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is expected to be operational by 2008. "This major investment will continue our commitment to serving custom nutrient premix demands globally and will position us to better serve rapidly growing markets such as China, Indonesia and Australia," said the company. In the US, the company is shifting its Fonata, CA, facility 14 miles to a new site in Ontario. At its head quarters in New York, it is adding 35,000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space to the 95,000 is currently has at its disposal. The company has said it will use this space for bigger blending capacities, enhanced technical capabilities, and more customer service support. The new facility is expected to open by the end of the summer. In Mexico, the company is repositioning its distribution office this spring, in order to be closer to the business district of the capital and the airport.
