The US-based company has revealed limited information about its plans but The Independent newspaper reports that leading pharmacy chain Boots will be among the retailers stocking the products.
The foods, branded with the Atkins logo, are expected to have significant success given recent indications of the diet's popularity in Britain. A survey published in the summer suggested that around 3 million people have tried the Atkins diet in Britain while another survey out this week suggest many Britons will follow the diet over the Christmas period.
The range is expected to include some of the firm's best selling products in the US, including high-protein cereal bars, milk shakes, chocolate and a special low-carb baking mix for bread that complies with the diet's criteria.
The new range will also include nutritional supplements, according to the report, to hold off criticism that the diet does not support sufficient intake of vitamin-rich fruit and vegetables.
Followers of the Atkins diet must drastically cut high-carbohydrate foods such as bread, potatoes and pasta, but can freely eat meat, dairy products and eggs.
