Usana Health Sciences said last week that its launch of operations in Taiwan, its newest international market, had been a success. The opening week events concluded with a business opportunity meeting in Taipei.
Dave Wentz, president of Usana, said: "Over the past several years Usana has benefited from the contributions of a large number of ethnic Chinese associates in all of our markets. These associates have been helping us prepare for a great market launch in Taiwan. Their enthusiasm has spread throughout our associate ranks."
Wentz added that the event was the largest country launch meeting ever held by the company. The Taiwan market represents a $1.2 billion market for direct sales and has 2.9 million active distributors. "The early indicators are a confirmation of our confidence that, together with our associates from around the globe, we can build a successful business in Taiwan."
Usana makes nutritional and weight management products that are sold directly to customers and associates throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and the United Kingdom.
