Kellogg, the US cereal manufacturer, has increased the vitamin and mineral content of its Complete breakfast cereal brand. The company said that the cereal now contained 100 per cent of 11 vitamins and minerals, eight more than before.

Both Complete Wheat Bran Flakes and Oat Bran Flakes have been reformulated to include the added vitamins, making the brand one of the highest nutritional cereals in the ready-to-eat cereal category, the company claimed.

Complete is marketed as a good source of 15 vitamins and minerals, as well as being 98 per cent fat free and an excellent source of fibre. One serving of Complete contains 100 per cent vitamin C, iron, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenate, zinc, vitamin B12, folic acid and vitamin B6.

"Kellogg strives to increase the value our products provide to consumers," said Jenny Enochson, Kellogg's marketing communications director."The taste of Kellogg's Complete remains unchanged and now offers consumers more nutrition for their dollar."
