Jamieson makes first acquisition
announced its first acquisition - ProMedis, a company specialising
in weight management.
Canadian vitamin manufacturer Jamieson Laboratories has bought ProMedis, a company specialising in weight management and bariatrics, in its first acquisition to date.
ProMedis products include functional foods such asinstant soups, puddings, beverages, bars and snacks. It is also well-known for its peptide and protein formulas targeting obesity which are sold to weight management and diet clinics in Canada and the US.
"This is the first acquisition for Jamieson Laboratories. ProMedis is ayoung and dynamic company and we feel that the addition of ProMedis to the Jamieson family gives us potential for substantial growth," said Vic Neufeld,president of Jamieson Laboratories.
"We believe that the ProMedis line ofproducts will be a wonderful complement to our Slim Down family ofproducts, and the Ultra Slim Down Kit, Canada's number one selling dietproduct."
Jamieson Laboratories said it plans to grow the portfolio of ProMedis productsboth from the functional food side and by introducing specific vitamin,mineral and botanical supplements to range.
