Barrington Foods International, the US-based food company, has launched a new soymilk powder product under the brand name Pride and Soy.
The instant soymilk powder will be sold in a 600 gram can, and is made using organic non-GMO soybeans.
Barrington Foods is a newly formed company which specialises in innovative soy- and dairy-based products which it distributes throughout the world.
As well the soymilk powder, it also produces a variety of dairy milk powders under the San Marcos, Prime, and Pride and Joy brands, a variety of infant and toddler foods under the Pride and Joy brand, protein drinks and a number of commodity products such as sugar and coffee.
It is also committed to improving health, not only through better food, but also through direct intervention, and is involved in a variety of humanitarian projects throughout the world, such as supplying infant formula to orphanages in Saigon.
The company said it had launched the soymilk powder in a bid to tap the potential of the soyfoods market, which it claimed had grown by 250 per cent in the US alone since 1995 to $2.77 billion in 2000.
"In 2001, growth averaged 20 per cent with soymilk being particularly strong in sales, and we are now in the process of distribution of our new instant Pride and Soy in anticipation of strong sales in the third quarter," Barrington said in a statement.
