A new company has been set up to distribute natural European skin care products in the United States next year.
The company, called EuroPharma, has begun licensing personal care products successfully sold in Europe and hopes to introduce them to the US market by January 2003. Among them is a bio-engineered product line manufactured using a new patented absorption technology for which EuroPharma has been granted the exclusive US rights.
Set up by founder and former president of Enzymatic Therapy, Terry Lemerond, EuroPharma plans to distribute natural products that are manufactured without synthetic chemicals, preservatives, conventional emulsifiers, fragrances or petroleum ingredients such as mineral oil and paraffin typically found in most cosmetics and skin care products currently on the market.
The personal care line will include popular European products that address age-related skin conditions, cellulite reduction, body shaping and slimming, hair loss, progesterone levels and breast augmentation.
EuroPharma's headquarters will be in Wisconsin and 40 employees are expected to be hired within the next 12 to 18 months. The company has also appointed an internationally-renowned clinical research organisation located in Germany to perform clinical studies on its products.
Lemerond said: "EuroPharma will satisfy a critical need in the US market by ensuring that consumers have better and healthier skin care choices, specifically, clinically-studied alternative products that contain significant amounts of beneficial and natural components, that are science-based and fully lab-validated."
