Marlyn Nutraceuticals, the US group which trades as Naturally Vitamins, has extended its contract with Germany's Mucos Pharma group giving it exclusive rights to distribute Wobenzym in the United States.

Wobenzym is part of a full range systemic enzyme therapy products pioneered by Professor Karl Ransberger at Mucos since the early 1950s. Other products included in the contract for future distribution are Phlogenzym and Wobe-Mugos.

The enzymes in Wobenzym break down the harmful proteins that irritate joints and slow recovery from injuries. The systemic enzymes in Wobenzym split other proteins and break them down into smaller fragments. The body uses these naturally occurring enzymes to remove circulating immune complexes from the blood and other harmful proteins to deliver nutrients and oxygen to various tissues more efficiently.

Naturally Vitamins said that numerous studies in Europe had been conducted on Wobenzym confirming its effects. Studies show Wobenzym to be safe and to have none of the adverse side effects of aspirin, ibuprofen and other NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs).

"We will continue to market safe and effective products to address the evolving healthcare needs of our customers," said Aftab Ahmed, director of research and development as well as business development for Naturally Vitamins. "Wobenzym has surpassed Naturally Vitamins' two-fold standard. It has been shown to be effective and provides reasonably proven health benefits."
